CNC Mission Statement
The Mission of CNC is to increase the growth of the tour and travel market into the Myrtle Beach area by developing cooperative promotional programs, educating local suppliers to the needs of the industry, and presenting the area as the best destination in the United States.
CNC - About Us
Who are CNC Members? Our membership consists of businesses that are marketing to the group tour and travel segment. The individual responsible for group sales represents their accommodations, attractions and shopping, theatres, restaurants and services businesses. Our membership fluctuates between 90-110 member businesses.
How Will My Business Benefit from CNC Membership? The most important benefit to your business is the opportunity to network with like-minded businesses. Cooperative sales efforts among our members are often begun at CNC Membership Meetings. In addition to our monthly meetings, CNC provides networking opportunities in our familiarization tours and Happy Hour Socials as well as an annual sales mission. Participation in our member committees and the annual Holiday FantaSea, an ABA Top 100 Event for five years running, are just a few additional opportunities that await you.
How does CNC Give Back to the Community? CNC members recognize the importance of investing in the future leaders of the hospitality industry. The CNC Scholarship Endowment in Memory of Matt Harper was established in 2011 with Coastal Carolina University. It provides a scholarship to a student in the Resort Tourism Management program at CCU. Various fundraisers are coordinated throughout the year to support the Scholarship Endowment.
What are the Annual Dues? Our fiscal year runs August through July. Annual dues for an individual business are $175, which will be pro-rated to $87.50 if you join in mid-year for 5 or fewer months. Multiple businesses memberships are $325 per year, pro-rated to $162.50 if you join in mid-year for 5 or fewer months. Invoices for annual dues are emailed in July and payment is expected upon receipt of the invoice. You can pay cash, check or credit card. If you pay online there is a credit card processing fee.
When & Where are the Meetings? CNC meetings are held from 8:30–10:00 AM the third Thursday of every month with the exception of December. Our annual Christmas Get Together is the second Thursday of December. Each monthly meeting is hosted by a member business. The host provides a breakfast of their choice. The request for meeting location venues is on a first come, first served basis. The CNC website, www.coastalnetworkcooperative.com, keeps our members informed and up-to-date with meeting locations.
Who is an Acceptable Guest for CNC? We are always interested in growing our membership. Inviting guests to our monthly meeting allows potential members to experience the organization and determine if membership will be beneficial. When pursuing potential new members, please keep CNC’s mission statement in mind. Not every business is a perfect fit and we want to ensure members mutually benefit from the organization. In consideration of our members, we request solicitation is reserved for members only.
What Else Do I Need to Know? The CNC Board of Directors meets the first Tuesday of every month. There are nine voting members. Elected board members consist of officers and member category representatives. The officers are Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson, Treasurer and Secretary. The member representatives consist of the following membership categories: accommodations, attractions/shopping, restaurants, theatres and services. The positions of Membership Chair, Holiday FantaSea Chair and the Grand Strand Hospitality Sales Association liaison are non-voting, appointed positions. Elected board members will serve a two-year term, not to exceed two consecutive terms. Elections are held in July alternating election years for officers and member category representatives. CNC is a 501(c)(6) Non-profit organization.
How Do Members Get Involved? CNC is a volunteer organization. A majority of the CNC programs are accomplished through committees: Marketing, Scholarship Endowment, Sales Blitz, Holiday FantaSea, and Meeting Programs. Find your place and get involved.
